Apologies for me not talking about cancer in the last couple of months. We need to talk about cancer. Thanks to all of you who have been in touch to see if I am OK. I was silent for too long. There are reasons, some good, and some less so, which I will soon explain them in a post.
My three month test towards the end of last year showed unrecordable levels of cancer. Obviously that’s good news. However this is an ongoing process and I have two years before clarity on how much normality has been achieved. It has been a period of intense reflection on life and its challenges. Meantime, I am dealing with side effects from treatment. I am currently waiting for the results of the second test. Recovering from the impact of prostate cancer is a longer term project than I first thought. More on all this soon.
For the last month life has been hectic. One of the good things in 2024 is that I am in full catch up mode on my work after the setbacks of last year. I have a book and a film to finish, and a lot of other things too.
It is increasingly clear that more open dialogue about cancer would be helpful nationally to improve treatment rates and understanding. That’s Why We Need To Talk About Cancer. So until I write my next post, here is something worth listening to from the BBC.

I agree talking about male cancer should be as matter-of-fact as women talking about their cancer and not hidden from the discussion.
Thank you David. Keep spreading the word.
